Workshop: boost your LinkedIn profile and skills – 16 May 2018

Is LinkedIn yet another thing on your “must do more of” list, a list that rarely gets shorter?

This event has passed. Please check the Events page for our next events.

In this hands-on workshop you will learn with other business owners and professionals to help you get even more out of LinkedIn, a network that has an estimated 250 million active members.

This is learning by doing. If you want to roll your sleeves up, meet others and swap ideas, time-saving tips and experience, this workshop on Weds 16 May is for you.

The structured session will give you thinking time and a springboard to action.

You’ll take away a host of ideas – including thinking laterally about content, imagery and photos – to help you develop winning LinkedIn habits.

Brian McGee, a member of Croydon Chamber, will lead this session. An experienced journalist, Brian is a business content writer, consultant & trainer.

In this practical workshop we’ll explore how to share the story of your business on LinkedIn, engage with current clients and attract new prospects.

Numbers are limited to 12 to ensure that business owners get the most out of this hands-on, participatory workshop.

A few reactions to a previous LinkedIn workshop that Brian held at Sussex Innovation Centre in Croydon, in partnership with Croydon Chamber:

  • “engaging and well worth attending” – Susanna Toth, Bridgehead co-founder, H-Net Translation-Interpretation
  • “a great workshop” – Helen Colechin, Managing Director at the HR Dept, South London
  • “I look forward to using your tips to improve my LinkedIn account” – Una Foster, Apprenticeship & Skills Advisor for Croydon College

You’ll see how a regular presence on LinkedIn can help you to:

  • keep your name front of mind
  • keep up to date with developments in your industry and beyond
  • make new contacts and keep learning

A key element of the session on Weds 16 May is to work in partnership with other attendees.

** In that sense this is not traditional training, it’s very much a participatory workshop. The more you feel able to take part and contribute, the more you’ll get out of the morning. **

The workshop will also cover:

  • how to make the most of comments on your and others’ content
  • what to consider when updating/improving the information on your profile
  • headshot: the benefits of a professional photo

**Please bring a laptop or tablet.**

We look forward to working with you on Weds 16 May.

Cake (it’s delicious) is kindly provided by Blue Belle Cafe in Penge.

Registration and tea/coffee is from 9h30. The workshop starts at 10h sharp and ends at 12h30.
